As everyone knows life goes on no matter what. You plan and plans fall through. Some actually work out. Life is weird that way. Work however, never goes the way you want it to.
About a year ago the wonderful company I work for decided to remodel one of the towers to house the new and significantly bigger joint replacement center. Of course paying its hard working staff would not be as nice as spending a gazillion more dollars to remodel. Of course this happened right after building the new south tower, I think that was probably the other portion of the gazillion. We then proceeded to move the spine center together with joint replacement. Staff was not happy. Doctors grumbled. With time and some patience we have become a fairly cohesive unit. We work very well together.
Now I don't grumble too much, I do my share but try and keep it to a minimum. My problem is that I don't like to hold things in. I figure if I do I will explode. I guess I have one of those faces that people feel comfortable talking to, because when things happen they come and find me. I love that most everyone feels enough at ease to tell me things. I pass to management issue that need to be taken care of.
Well at this time in my life I am getting close to wanting to retire, or at least do something not quite as strenuous as shlepping patients around for twelve hours a night. I have thought about clinic work, but how does a die hard night person do DAYS......OMG THE SUNSHINE.......hahaha. Anyways I am looking at all my options, even going back to travel nursing...
We had a great summer with mom and dad driving them home taking the scenic route. Nebraska, Wyoming, Yellowstone park, Montana and Idaho before going into Britsh Columbia to be at my grandson Kyle's high school grad, which was phenomenal, outstanding and absolutely hilarious. The grandmaster was done first in their finest gowns and tuxedos. The awards were all handed out, Kyle got scholarships and bursaries. Very proud, very very proud. Then came the last half of the ceremonies where the kids entered from either side of the gym. We were all taken quite by surprise when almost all of the kids came back in with costumes on or in their underwear. We have never laughed so hard or had so much fun. The next day there were pictures galore, BBQ, and good company. Then we were off to Nelson.
Everything was going great we took the ferry to Balfour and home to mom and dad's. We had just got settled in and I was getting our phones fixed when there was a pounding on the door. Huge surprise for me, when my two sick sisters showed up to surprise me. Best and happiest surprise ever. They had both told me had to work and could not get away this time. Little shit asses both of them. We sang, danced, drank took pictures and just had fun. Would not have missed that for anything. I love them both so much and we have always had fun together. We scraped the deck for mom and dad getting it ready for repair and paint. Char fell through one broken board and then we found a couple of more to fix too. Boards bought and repairs done. Sad leaving but we all had fun. Michael and I had a nice two day trip home and the back to work for us both
